While it is necessarily the case with this structure it does engendered the feeling that these poles could well be wrapped around a shipping container. Shipping containers are without doubt one of the 20th C's great innovations.
While it wouldn't be straight forward to use such poles by themselves to create a structure offering a similar volume using this way enables many thing otherwise not possible. Interesting these poloes might otherwise be used to creat paper pulp or as fuel.
In either case the carbon sequestered in them, they might well have been used in a manner where the carbon was released to the atmosphere quite quickly. Moreover, the processing of them might also have meant that fossil fuels were used thus expelling carbon to the amosphere.
